50th Anniversary Tin and Card.

This weekend we will be heading to Nebraska, a 5 or so hour drive for us from here in Kansas to my hubbys mother and fathers for their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
I have decided to make this tin so that they can put the pictures from the occasion and the cards they receive all in one place. I didnt want to do an all Gold tin, because i wanted her to be able to display it for years to come and so i did the tin in the colors of her living room.
I decided to make their Anniversary card to match and used up the scraps of the paper i used on the tin.
I had to ink the prima flowers on the tin to match the colors a bit better and age them up a bit. I like the look of them and the cute little pearl adhesives in the centers. All in all i think it turned out so nice, not to busy just simple and nice.
So its time to pack some bags and head for Nebraska to help celebrate with the folks! Shane's folks are pretty much the people who i consider my parents as well. I was taken from my birth mother at father at age 5, both of them died when i was young. I was put into foster care until i was 18. I do not consider the foster parents my parents...as they didnt know how to parent. So when i married Shane and gained his parents it was the first time in my life that i got to experiance the love of a parent and i appreciate them so much. So it was a pleasure to do this for them! Thanks for stopping by.

Paris/London Albums and a Travel Tin!!!

I have worked on this order for a week or so now and i am finally DONE! yea!!!!
I got this special order from a return customer and was really excited about making it up for her, especially the paris album! But I also got to use my new tim holtz stamps, which i did order specil to work on these albums.
I talked to christy and she said that she had over 600 pictures from her trip and so i suggested she needed a tin to keep them in! So i made this tin for her as well. And I LOVE It...i tried to make it look like a suit case/leather etc. I think it turned out pretty darn cool! IT was so so fun to do.
I hope Christy will be pleased with them all!

What Would Mom Do Altered Tin

You can bid on this item on ebay HERE
Well i got a bright idea on a tin! LOL. I thought its getting close to kids going off to college...about a month away...SO i thought how about a tin, to send off with your daughter on her new adventure. I would work for a shower gift for her too...or what ever you can think of! Anyways it says, "what would my mom do" and the tag on the side says " Box of love and advice" I made 4 divider cards , Words of advice, words of love, and emergency funds,(coupons, cash, gift certificates) recipes. I think it will be fun to write some letters of advice and words of encouragement to send off with your daughter. AS for the emergency funds, to have a few gift certificates, coupons, and a little emergency cash. Also the Recipe section, things you can make quick in a microwave or hot pot or in a pinch if some guests show up ! Use your imagination i say! Have fun with it!

Vintage Travel Journal

I listed this travel journal on etsy tonight. You can go and look at it HERE. I used Kraft paper to make this album. It folds and ties. Its nice and sturdy, and i machine stitched the edges to help with its charm and sturdiness. I crumpled and inked up the paper to make it look more like old leather. I stamped it and added vintage embellishments to give it a well worn, travel look to it. Inside are 2 sheets of paper held under a twine string to hold them in. I aged the edges and stamped with some of my tim holtz stamps. This is a fun album and its about 4x5 in size so it could fit in your travel bag easily while your on your vacation. Just pull it out and jot down something fun and interesting from your trip. Or it just could be your "travel journal" of your life. enjoy!

File Folders For Holly!

I have had another order from Holly in France!! *thanks holly* (i pray your well!)
Three of the albums are for friends for their birthdays! And one is for Holly herself, for positive thoughts and family pics. That is the "prayers go up Blessings come down. I love the colors, using the graphic 45 papers once again! Just love that paper line!
The Kimy album is suppose to be a bit "gothic", and she loves operas so i did it in the black, cream and burgandy colors and the graphic 45 (i know i know..again?), hope it works for her!
I also did one for a shirley, who loves to dance and is 12. I thought the bees looked like they were dancing! Added the sparkle paper to give it some spunk, as i hear she is quite the girl!
And the last one is for Melanie and she likes butterflies. I had some of this cute , i think its basic grey but not sure, butterfly paper and it was just perfect for this album. I cut out the butterflies to put on the front and through out the album for a 3d effect. I added some sparkle paper to the "M" on the front. It turned out to darn cute!
Thanks Holly, hope your feeling better, thinking about ya!!!
