Friend Card

I had fun making this card. It measures around 5x7 in size. Added some lace, some of the pretty nature paper from K & Company that i distressed , the butterflies are also from K&Company as well, they are boarders i just cut up into single butterflies. I glued 2 together for demention and some prima flowers. I colored the image with colored pencils and OMS. I added some fun flocks to the flowers in the image, cut the image at a slant with my nestabilities die, inked it to match the papers. I added a manilla tag at the back with the Helen Keller quote and some of that great vintage seam binding. And the sentiment "friend" on front. Its different from what i normally do.

Happy Birthday Card

I posted this card on Etsy tonight. I used Kraft paper to make up the card base and to stamp my images on. I used a hero arts stamp and stamped it across the length of the card. I then stamped one on some stampin up card stock and then colored it with colored pencils and OMS. Then i embossed it to add a bit of a shine and debth. I decided to go with a red theme and added some of the scrap papers i had. I dont know what company they are since they are from my scrap bin. Over the top of the stamped images i added some swirly vellum where you can see the flower images coming through. I also stamped Happy Birthday on the front of the vellum . Machine sewing it to the rest of the lay out in a wacky fashion! I added some brown pearls, and some dotted brown ribbon to the card as well. Inside, i couldnt get a picture to turn out, but it has the matching papers on the inside .

Gift Tag Tin

I have finally finished the Gift Tag Tin. I showed you the 6 tags earlier, and i had to search out a tin that they would fit in and my friend Melinda came through for me...she hunted some down at the thrift store!!!! yea! I love our thrift store, i find all kinds of goodies there. Its nice and clean and that is important to me.

Anyways, i covered this tin with prima papers, i so want to get more of it, as i absolutley love it! The papers are matching to the paper i used on the gift tags.

The Tin is around 5x10 in size and covered inside and out. The tags fit beautifully in it as if it was made for them!

I will probably be listing this on Etsy in the next few days or so. If your interested in it let me know! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Thank you Gift

The houseboat in the background.
Luke and Logan Luke and LoganLuke

I posted the thankyou card in the previous post to this gift. I had to finish up the Scrapbook album and matching gift bag and tag so that I could post it all for you !
I used a larger paperbag album for this gift. The nice family that I made this for, were generous enough to invite my son Luke on their vacation. He is friends with thier son, Logan. They took a vacation to Tablerock lake, I think that is what it is called , in Missouri. They stayed on a houseboat the whole time and enjoyed playing in the water. There was a slide off the back off the boat from the top level, they hired a faster boat to pull them on a big tube. All in all they had a good time and I am so greatful to them for being so geneous in inviting Luke.
I thought the album would be a great way to say thankyou since Lila LOVES to take pictures, and I think her nick name is "the paparazzi" LOL. So she will have to sort through all her pictures to find the right ones to put in this album. If you notice there is a scarecrow that i paper pieced included in the album, its a Whitmore family joke/tradition to take a scarecrow on vacations and take pictures of it in different places. So I had to add one for their scrapbook! Lila will get a kick out of it! I hope you noticed the flowers i made out of old pattern paper.....i had seen them on someone elses blog and so i HAD to make my own! I used the stamp that i used on the bag and card and just traced around it to make the flower shape! (who says stamps are just for stamping! LOL) Then I laid at least 4 on top of each other glueing inbetween each layer, then i took one cut out and folded it in half, and glued that on, along with the other half and so on. Then i took a cut out and folded it in half and half again! and just kept adding layer after layer until i felt it was "fluffy" enough. Then glued a button in the middle! I can get the old patterns at the thrift store for .25cents..! So you can get a ton of flowers out of all that pattern paper!.

The album is made in a vintage style so , the pattern paper flowers went with it fabulously! Old map paper and and colors of tans, greens and reds added to that theme. I had to add some vintage style "music" themed paper to the album to as Lila teaches music and her kids Logan and Sarah are very musical and have won lots of awards for their abilities. So here are some pics of the album and the gift bag and tag

A thank you card

I got a goody box from my friend Melinda and there was a stamp in there , this flower that i had to use! I inked it up with cocoa brown and stamped it onto some kraft paper. I cut them out , layered them on the card at different heights. Added a tag with thankyou and some twine and some buttons. Its a simple card but i like how it turned out!

Also want to share my find at the thrift store this week, a place holder, that i am using as a place to hold my cards. I love finding little things at the thrift store to turn into good use! Also picked up some old patterns to use the patterns to cut out flowers to use on vintage things! How fun!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great 4th of July!
