Four more journaling spots...

Been waiting to use this paper with the birds, think its from winter wonderland. Again ,I have to use the check...i love it.
I have had this paper for a while. The top left is a felted page, so I will love to run my hand over it through the years.  I divided the sections with washi tape. I usually sew and makes the divisions but this time I used washi tape.
Not to long and I will be binding this book up for the year. Seems to of went by too fast!

Catching up with my Journal pages....

With Thanksgiving, lots going on and family visiting. So didn't get to keep up with my journal much. I am now caught up.
Had a few wonderful things happen while off on this holiday.  One, we got to spend some time on Thanksgiving with one of our grandsons. Oliver. We don't get to see him much even though he lives here in the same city. He lives with his mother and this was the first time we got to have him with his daddy and us all alone. Was so relaxing and wonderful.
Second wonderful thing was that Oliver's daddy, Luke got engage to his girlfriend Amanda! We are gaining another daughter in law as well as her 2 girls and her son. Yeah!
So with out further ado, here are the journal pages!

Tuesday and Wednesday journal page layout.

Ran to Joann's on my way out to get a couple things at Walmart. I had not been in there for a while, was fun to look around. I found some papers and a pad of kraft paper that was on sale for 1.99. I had a coupon for 40% off so got the papers and the pad for just a little over $2.

So I was inspired to use the paper for my layout tonight in my journal. Here is what I came up with.

A walk through of a two day journal layout.

Time again for a journal layout for the next 2 days. I thought I would walk  through of how I lay out a page.

First I check my stash...I do have full page papers in a drawer as well but I like to try and use up my scraps in my journal. I also do use the scraps in my paintings for layering and depth. I being OCD have the papers sorted according to size...I stopped myself from doing in color!lol I did have it that way in the past. (grins)
Ok I start looking in my stash and find something that sticks out for me that day. today it was that vintage rose paper. Then I start finding papers that have the same colors in them as the main piece.I want as I have said in past posts, my journal to not only remind me of what happened that year, house memories, look pretty but to also have a touch quality to it. I like to run my hands over the pages! Maybe that is weird to you...but I dont care...Its my journal, my life! You do you, I'll do me! lol So as you can see in the photo above I have a variety of papers thrown out there, Im not going to use them all..i will use what feels right.
I start with a piece of scrap printer paper, if I plan to sew the page...if not I adhere right to the journal page.  Then I start laying the pieces out, see what feels right.

when I feel like I have what I like, I stick it down with my tape runner, just a tacking not a full stick down, unless im not going to sew that piece. If im not going to sew that piece I fully stick it down. but in this case I tacked them all on, as I am going to sew the whole thing.
Lets get sewing! I usually use a straight stitch and zig zag. I do have other stitches, I have the project runway limited addition brother sewing maching with 99 stitch patterns.
Here it is all sewn an stuck to my journal page. I added the day of the month numbers from my number stash.

Been collection awhile and in a pinch I print off different font letters too.
So there it is a walk through of how I do it. It took me maybe 15 minutes. Now im good to go for today and tomorrow. Ill be back then.

Art Journal-He Lives in Us.

New Art Journal Page done.
He Lives In Us
I was inspired by a song I was listening to last Sunday on Pandora on my Christian Rock Radio. A song by Jeremy Camp hit me with the lyrics and I was inspired to draw this.
Same Power is the name of the song, what a great song. Knowing that God is in us, and giving us strength to fight the fight. Here are parts of the song that inspired me....
I can walk down this dark and painful road, I can face every fear of the unknown, I can hear, ll God's children singing out, WE WILL NOT BE OVERTAKEN,WE WILL NOT BE OVERCOME,
"the same power that rose Jesus from the grave, the same power that commands the dead to wake, Lives in us...lives in us. The same power that moves mountains when HE speaks, the same power that can calm a raging sea, lives in us, lives in us He lives in us, lives in us, God , he lives in us.

Personal Projects.....Grand babies books.

Got to make up an album for my newest Grand child, Addalynn Rochelle. She is so precious. First grand daughter so she is very special.
I wanted this album to be all pretty and sparkly and florals..cuz thats what little girls are made of right?
I love this paper its High Tea from Kaiser Kraft. Left room on the last few pages so that Bethany can add more pictures of Addalynn up to her first birthday!

I then made up a scrapbook book for little Trever . He is a sweet heart and full of energy, so thought he would like the papers with the animals and outdoory theme.
Papers are campfire set by photoplay.
This time I left the pictures out so that Bethany can add the pictures she chooses to make it a bit more personal.
