Special Order Recipe Tin

 Special Order Finished!! I LOVE how this tin turned out, and the paper combo. I think it is so dang cute! Love the burlap flowers and the ribbon to set it off!

Art Journal Page

Did a quick drawing and watercolor for my DLP journal . I am doing another Documented Life Journal this year and I doing it may way once again. I will look at the challenges offered through the group but I just want to fill my book with things that are me...and that fit the mood Im in at that moment in time. I dont want to be forced to create, I want to feel what Im doing.  This pic is on the back side of my calander to fill in an empty space. I love pinterest and love all the quotes that are available. I just find one that speaks to me and then put it with a drawing or draw something and find a quote to go with it!.

 Retro colors in this album with Farmhouse Paper Pack. Aged pages, machine sewn through out. This is a fun album. Would make a great Valentines gift for a dear friend.You can purchase it HERE in my Etsy shop!  Front cover layered with Rolodex card, and true story journaling tag. pretty flowers and stickers spelling out "friends" A cute brad with a old fashioned police officer running holding on a quote tag that says, " there is a certain happiness in being silly & rediculous." 

 Page 1 and 2 on the inside are a picture page, you can tuck a picture in behind the lace and quote tag. It says, "I like you just because you join  in on my weirdness." Page two is a pocket page made out of another rolodex card..with 2 tags tucked in behind. Another quote tag says, "My idea of an agreeable person is a person who agrees with me."

 Page 3 is a big journal page that you can add a picture to as well if you want. Page 4 has a scalloped edged tab that you can slide a picture into. With a quote tag that says, "If plan "A" doesn't work, the alphabet has 25 more letters."

 Page 5 is another journaling spot but again you can tuck a picture in behind the 6 pints tab, and pull out the journaling card from behind the today tomorrow and always card. Page 6 has a place for a picture you slide behind the tape measure. a cute price tag for jounaling and another of the cute quote tags, "Im not weird, I'm a limited edition" (my personal favorite! lol)

 Page 7 has a cute pocket envelope with the string closure, inside is a journaling card and you could even tuck in a picture or two in there! Quote says, "When in doubt, dance it out." (good advice for anyone! )Page 8 a picture placement spot, again slide in behind the lace and quote tag. Quote says, "Life is better when you're laughing"

 Page 9 is another picture placement, with paper and lace picture holder...and and cute brad No.1 holding quote tag, "life is better with friends." Page 10 is a page with a file folder sewn in..a journaling card on the top and a pretty brad holding the tag , that says, "friends don't let friends, do silly things....alone. " The file is being held closed with a mini clothes pin. 

 Inside the file folder are 2 picture placements one with tabs one with lace.

The back of the file folder is another place for a picture with the lace from the other side of file going all the way around.  The last page is cute envelope sewn on...the tab of the envelope is tucked under the tab that says, "you are my happy" inside the envelope is a journaling card. Fun little album.

Art Jounaling 2015

 

Well it's a new year....I have found myself less motivated for the last 6 months and its just been hard to get anything done in my art studio. I have a painting that I have been working on little by little and that really isnt like me. I usually get in get out a canvas and draw and paint it up in a day or two. But this canvas is huge. I was intimidated by its size 3x5. I am slowly making progress and I hope to be showing you it in the next month. 

I ordered Jane Davenports new book Drawing and Painting Beautiful Faces and I anxiously waited for it to arrive. I received it a few days ago and I just love it. It is so beautiful and so inspirational. I decided to draw up a face in my art journal and maybe get back on track to being creative once again.  We will see how it goes!

So being my first drawing/painting of the new year and inspired from Janes book, I decided that the quote would have to be about Beauty. I dont just write down any thing, it has to touch me.  And this quote does just that. I used watercolor pencils and pit pens to color up this face.  Just a quick sketch and some quick painting...trying not to over think things and just go with it.

 Two tags in the first pocket page for adding a picture and journaling picture placement on the smaller page, just tuck  in behind the tab.

 Another picture placement and then a larger pocket with journaling places.

 Another picture placement on the back of the big pocket page, a large pull out page pulls out of the pocket , room for photos and journaling. lots of cute flowers, rhinestones and lace thought out the album. A rounded pocket page follows with pretty embossed papers and a pull out tag with a little clothespin to hold the picture!

 Again another embossed papered pocket page wtih tag. large tag on following page for a picture to tuck a picture behind the scalloped edge and journaling spot.

 On the back side of the large tag is another pocket with a journaling card. Followed by and large picture placement page made out of a bag with wooden heart embellishment.  A pull out page is tucked in behind.

 Tuck a picture behind the butterfly strip and journal about it below. pretty flowers and rhinestones though out. Smaller embellished tag with pretty bird and fruit i added some glitter glue to the fruit to give it some sparkle!

Te back side of the smaller page is an embossed paper with a sentiment and journaling spot.  Followed by a pretty fussy cut pocket for another larger tag for a picture or two!

Altered Book Art Journal Listed in my Etsy Store

This is an old book 9.5x7 in size. Altered to 34 usable pages to alter with your art (16 pages total with tabs) there are 2 pages glued together out of the book to make on page, so nice sturdy pages. Each page has a base coat of gesso. Ready for you to add paint too! The cover has been painted, and lace and ribbon added to shabby it up. I took an old metal frame and aged it with paint and spray. It frames a title page that says "from my heart" in assorted metals and mixed alphabets. And a golden glittered heart. The album is closed by a sheer ribbon tied on the side. A pretty floral ribbon runs down the spine. This book will be fun to start filling up with your art and journaling! Great gift idea!!!

My Favorite Things Journal

I made this album for a dear friend, we exchange happy mail of some sort each month. She has always been so good to me and always sending me little somethings all the time that just make my day. So I wanted to do something special for her  to say thank you!  I took an old book from the recycle center and  took out every few pages , then glued  every 2 of the pages together, then painted with gesso the whole thing...inside and out. (not all at once of course!) Then I took some of my prisma color bloom tea stain spray mist which really is more of a shimmery gold...and sprayed on the cover etc. and every other couple pages in the inside of the book.  I have a bag of large lace that looks like it came off a wedding dress that i like to use for bigger projects and glued it across the front and back covers. I used hot glue, then covering the edges with a piece of cream broadcloth that I added mod podge and gesso too and stuck it to the binding and over the edges of the lace. I took the cream material again and cut out circles and then spiral cut into the center of each and then rolled up into roses, and hot glued together. tucked in a few pearl pins behind for a bit of fun. I found the little metal frame at the thrift store and I put gesso on it to age it up a bit. I used a scrap of one of my favorite paper packs in the background DCWV La Creme' matstack. Then added in my metals and 3d letters and stickers to say "my favorite things"

 Side view of the album, I alternated pages sets with the spray, then a set of pages with lace. All tied up with a sheer bow!

 I made tabs out of the same card stock as the background to the frame..la'creme' they say, Faith, for her favorite scriptures etc. Family...Friends, Furry Friends, she has a love of animals, Flowers, and she is an avid gardener. 

I added some pictures I printed off  into each catagory to get her started!I hope to make more of these and list them in my etsy shop...just have to go "shopping" up at the recycle center! lol
