I have made Ava's birthday albums now for 4 years! Its such an honor to be asked to make them year after year and THIS year...there was a twist! Actually putting the pictures in as I went! I really enjoyed it! It made things a bit easier and also a bit stressful, hoping that you are doing it in a way that they will like, using the right pics, and not messing them up! I learned that it is best to have the client send you 2 sets of pictures in case you do mess up! lol This years theme was My Little Pony. I had my little miss Bailee be my supervisor and let me know if the stickers I ordered or pictures I printed were the actual My Little Pony stuff! ( I apparently messed up on a couple prints!?) I used colorful papers, fun daisy flower, buttons, glitter papers and My little Pony stickers and prints.
This Blog is to share my creative works with friends. I hope you stop by often to visit and give me your feedback!!

Rolled Edge Album.
Rolled Edge Paper Bag Album. Trying something different...saw an album on Pinterest with this same concept...so thought I would give it ago. I didnt understand the directions for it so I just flew by the seat of my pants and this is what I came up with and it seems to work pretty good. lol I had to use my new paper pack 75 cents by Kaisercraft. love it. It has a good variety of shiny and matte papers, beautiful papers...cant get enough of them! yum.
I didnt want to cover up some of the papers with more papers for photo placements so I just added tabs...there is a tag in the corner too . A large pocket page on the other side with a popped out frame where another picture can go, with cut rolled flowers adorning it. Large tag for journaling, would be fun to get a white journaling pen for this one!
Another page i just couldnt cover up...gold shiny butterflies...wow..what a pop they bring. A small pocket page with a tag I have been hording from an eco africa set...love the roughness of it.
Small photo placement with a little flap to put the picture behind...large tag pocket with tag.
Yummy embossed floral page...so pretty again with photo tabs. Another photo placement page with large tabs and scalloped edge to fit picture behind. All pages have machine stitching.
The last pages with more yummy papers, with tabs and tags. just love the papers. This album has been sold! Im so blessed to have a friend who appreciates my work! Please stop back again and see what I come up with next..I have 2 projects I will be needing to get done for special orders here soon, will post when I am done! Thanks for stopping by.

Real....Mixed Media Art Piece.
I find that pinterest has alot of interesting things to find on its site. I have found great recipes, great decorating ideas, cute animals, lots of art and super super quotes! This quote I found last week and it really just hit me in the heart. I LOVE this quote. It is ME. It explains so much to me...
I took a watercolor paper and drew up my design idea after putting on the quote. using scrapbook paper scraps, in pinks and browns I covered the page , and her dress. I painted the girl with acrylics and I decided to make the wings by using my modeling paste and my art trowl so its a fun texture and really looks like feathers. I took an old frame from the thrift store and pianted it white. Think it makes the painting pop and the wings really pop. I hope you like my new piece!

New Mixed Media Coffee Canvas!
new mixed media canvas. I love me a cup of cappuccino! So I had to make this canvas! I started out mod podging definitions out of an old dictionary for coffee, java, mocha...you can see one pretty good at the top of the page on the right side. I used lots of color with acrylic paints, and some ink. using a piece of paper cut to fit inside the cup, I used modeling paste and swirled it around like the foam and let it dry. Then I added some paint to make it look even more like the foam! Using a coffee mug I dipped the bottom in coffee colored paint and pressed it on the canvas. Adding a cute saying and a pretty butterfly! I hope it sells!

Happy Fall Everyone!!!
A Friend of mine thought I should share this on my blog! I think it is so funny, Bailee got this owl hat for one of her My Life dolls....she decided to put it on one of our dogs...this is Sophie..she is more willing to participate with goofy things like this then Sadie her sister dog is. Sophie lets bailee stroller her around in a baby doll with her legs in the leg spots just like a doll! to funny
HAPPY FALL EVERYONE....its my favorite time of year.

You Can't Calm the Storm.....Owl Painting...
Well this past week, (actually month) has been a stressful and so I needed a diversion...something to take my stress and turn it into something possitive. I had found this quote on Pinterest...I love pinterest....and it was exactly what I needed to hear...and what inspired me to do this painting. "You can't calm the storm, so stop trying. What you can do is calm yourself. The storm will pass."
I love that. And it is so darn true...i really need to learn to stop fussing...to learn that God is in control and let him have it. I can pray for peace...but I need to learn to let go and let God handle it.
I am inspired by Allen Designs, her cooky type animals...and colors along with Misty Lacefield and what she taught me in her class with her use of colors and making backgrounds. Just find such peace when Im in the middle of a painting, with paint on my hands...just totally engolfed in the process...thinking of the quote as it guides you along.
I used acrylic paints for it all. for the fine work I did use my doodle pen from Scarlet Lime shop. Thanks for stopping by.
