Fly Away Home, Journal Page

My Fly Away Home Art Journal Page!
I had fun coming up with this image and with this page. I find so much joy in creating these journal pages, so relaxing and fun to see what you come up with each time. How it starts out and then how it ends, at some point in the middle you wonder if it will work out at all and your about to scrap it! lol I like my crazy looking bird its so darn cute! I was inspired when my daughter bailee was wearing her brothers hat the other night, so cute on her, with the earflaps..so i decided to draw this girl up with that same style hat! I think i will create more scenarios with this girl maybe in different hats! lol
Thanks for stopping by...remember the montly planner i posted before this  post is still available for purchase if you cant find it on ebay, email me at ibredrenee@ hotmail.com if you are interested!

Life Book 2013 Lesson 1 and warm up....

I was Blessed with a invite to the LifeBook 2013 this year and we had our first lesson last week! The warm up exercise was to do a Fairy Art Mother or Father. On these we are to write positive answers to our doubts we have during our LifeBook classes to allow us to let go and just create! it was fun. I bought some faber-castell watercolor crayons to do this exercise as that is what Tam used! i love them. I do want to get the Neo Colors at some point for a varity of more colors.
The first actual exercise was to do a Blessings and Goals page. We were to use ourselves in the pic so i had fun with it like Tam did. I had Bailee take a pic of me being goofy like i was driving a car...notice how my hair blows in the breeze! LOL  I pretty much stuck with how Tam did her's since it was the first lesson and i can become braver and find my own idea as we progress. I didnt want the stress of trying to come up with something or wondering if it was good enough! So i just went with what Tam taught. As did most.
Tonight is another new lesson so im off to see what is in store for me tonight. we have a varity of teachers throughout the whole year so it will be fun to learn new techiques and styles!

Art Journal Pages......

This past weekend I spent it doing up some pages in my art journal. I really needed the time to "get away" Sometimes it's like therapy for me when dealing with life hurts! It was a tough week...so I really needed this "therapy weekend". I did get other things done as well....laundry, feeding the family etc. So that's always good right?!
The first piece i used some muslin, lace, and modeling paste and a few print offs....im not that happy with how it turned out, but hey its not totally hideous in real life anyway..but we cant always have winners ...

The second piece I did  was a two page spread and I had seen an art piece on pinterest that used stips of paper, at least i think that is what it was and i liked the look of it. So i have 2 drawers full of scrap papers and thought it would be a great way to use them ! So I laid them out with modpodge and then I painted coordinating colors. I used a stencil and added a little design with the dots...and went around them with my gelly roll pen , black. I used some large sponge letters to do the lettering...another saying I found on pinterest...and i cut the bird out of more scrap papers out of my scrap drawer. I had watched a Donna Downey Video and she made these round circlie things on one of her pages and i thought I would try that technique on this page. I spritzed them with water and made them into flowers. I love the saying and i love love love this piece. I might have to make another one , one i can frame..and hang on my wall!

The last page I did up a cute floral page, again, i saw someone use the circles on pinterest and I wanted to give it a go...it was pretty quick and fun. I had written this bible verse down the other day when a friend on facebook had posted it...and i told her that i was going to use that on a journaling page. So i did!

So Im hoping for a better week....but i will still hope for another weekend of creating! ;)  I also got a few rice bags sewn for an order so i was moving right along!

Mixed Media Art Piece-Birthday Gift for a Friend

I have made this special mixed media art piece for a dear sweet friend! It was her birthday on the 31st of October and I like to send her something because she has been so good to me over the years. She is the one who got me start on this crazy journey into paper crafting!! She sent me box after box of paper and goodies to get me started...So i have her to blame for my addiction! But if your going to be addicted to something...It might as well be paper.....!!
I found the frame at the thrift store and painted it up. to match the mixed media painting...this is my rendition of Vicky on the front...she is beautiful inside and out! I used paper, paint and modeling paste, gelly roll pens! All painted on canvas.
I didnt want to post this until after she got it so as not to ruin the suprise! She got it today and was pleased with it....! Happy Birthday Vicky!!

Ava's 3rd Birthday Circus Album

I was asked again by a special customer to make her daughters 3rd birthday album. I have made all her birthday albums so far!! I fell so blessed and honored to be asked to do them. I decided this time to make the album with some fun pages to add extra placement for pictures etc. I hope that she will be pleased with it!

Gift Tag Order...Im nuts over them!

I love making tags. Maybe you know that by now.....I do make alot of them! With this cute Lili of the Valley Stamp  and the Little Yellow Bicycle- Acorn Hollow Papers...I think they turned out great and so Fall like! I also used Studio G Clear stamps for the leaves and the acorns for embellishment. I dipped the bottoms of the acorns in some Tim Holtz aged mahogany distress embossing powder. Some twine and natural colored ribbon and matching buttons .....mounted on peeled corigated cardboard.
Stop by again, I have 2 more projects to post....One will be AFTER the recipient gets it!
